Introductory Post

For a long time, I've tossed around the idea of doing a regular blog. This idea renewed itself last year when I first became principal. It is an idea that has continued to grow to the point that I cannot ignore it any longer. I have had many thoughts throughout the last two years like, "Ooohh, that would be a perfect topic for my blog!" However, I have to start the blog in order to post to the blog.

So, for this first posting, I thought it would be beneficial, for both me as the author and you as the reader, to explain why I am doing this blog and what I want this blog to be. In no particular order:

  • It is a chance for you to get to know me and my heart a little better, albeit in an indirect way. I see this as a chance for me to share, with my own voice, the topics and/or issues that I feel are important for us to be aware of as a school family.
  • It will provide an opportunity for me to explain aspects of the school that may not be widely known or understood.
  • While I intend to post to the blog regularly, I don't want to set a strict timeframe. For example, I am not going to commit to posting at least every Monday or anything like that. What I have found is that the nature of this job is that I don't always know exactly what any given day is going to look like, so I cannot commit to regimented schedules of time. Honestly, this has been one of my biggest excuses for not starting a blog. I intend to post at least once a week, but I know there will be times that doesn't happen.
  • On a personal note, I've wanted to write more and this will force my hand and remove all my excuses!
  • I want to be able to share news stories or articles that can be of benefit to our community.
  • Finally, and most importantly, I believe it is something that God is calling me to do. I have resisted, thinking that no one will care about what I have to say about any of the things above. However, I believe God has placed me in this position, and with this platform, so I want to use every tool at my disposal to further His Kingdom.
I am excited to see where this goes and for the possibilities ahead. I am going to leave the comment section open for all of these blogs. Please feel free to contribute to the conversation, but make sure that you are being respectful of everyone else when doing so. Please share your thoughts or even topics you'd like to see me address. As always, you can contact me privately at

Prayers for you and your family,

                   Mr. Chris Driscoll
