Disc Golf Club

Disc golf is a sport that is played like golf, but instead of trying to hit a ball with a club into a hole, you try to throw frisbee-like discs into a basket made of chains.

We will learn the rules and techniques needed to play and will be able to practice in the field behind the school. Eventually we will go to a local course and play a round or two of disc golf.

For those wishing to participate, you will need to purchase a disc golf starter pack. Typically these contain at least 3 discs (a driver, a mid-range, and a putter). Any set of these will be fine. The most common kits you will find will be from the company Innova (you may also see Discraft or Dynamic Discs).

You may also want some kind of bag to carry your discs in (a probably a bottle of water, too). You can buy a specific disc golf bag (some "deluxe" kits include a bag with the discs) or you can just use something like a drawstring-style backpack. Again, this is recommended, but not required.

Kits and bags are available online (like amazon.com) and are also available at local stores such as Meijer, Academy Sports, Dick's Sporting Goods, and other retailers.
